Repurposing of a mid-20th century development into a new office campus to deliver building performance, commercial facilities and interior experiences, while respecting history and community.

1 Cumberland Place, Dublin 2

MCA were appointed to design and deliver Twitter’s new EMEA Headquarters at No.1 Cumberland Place, Dublin 2. The project includes: reception, barista, function and training rooms, open plan office, micro kitchens, commons, and a landscaped terrace at the rear.

The reinterpretation of local Georgian architecture was key to the design concept. The result is an authentic interior, representative of its surroundings and historical location. Key features include glazed window boxes, traditional fabrics, local materials and use of heritage crafts.

The project is certified to LEED Platinum standard and is a model for sustainable commercial refurbishment. Natural daylight is afforded to all areas. Bike parking and shower facilities are provided and all fixtures and fittings subject to review by independent LEED consultants. Water saving and high efficiency solutions were implemented, including the  reuse and repurposing of desking, soft furnishings and key feature materials.
