High spec Tier 3 Data Centre constructed over 2,000 sq m
Damastown Industrial Estate, Dublin 15
Construction of a 2000sq.m. of Tier 3 data centre facilities within building 5, in a series of phases. Data Centre together with the associated mechanical and electrical plant areas were constructed to provide N+1 redundancy and resilience and with scalability to allow the facility to increase 800sq.m. in the future, whilst being kept alive.
The new internal plant areas include the construction of electrical rooms including UPS/battery rooms and a switch room, New external plant areas included a new generator compound with fuel storage tank, new chillers within the existing modified chiller compound, a new pump house, new service bridges connecting the external plant areas to Building 5 and the installation of a new roof level AHU. In addition, new security cages were installed within the existing Data Centre to subdivide it internally.
MCA provided full architectural and design team co-ordination for the project and were involved in the on-going detailed reviews with IBM International in order to meet the specific client requirements and complete the Data Centre within the tight programme. The project was completed in April 2011.
