As part of the National Plan for Radiation Oncology MCA delivered design services to St. Luke's Hospital in Dublin for the provision of 2 new Radiotherapy suites and the replacement of a further two linear accelerators.

The centre provides a range of radiation oncology treatments. Shielding for the two new units was achieved using high density blocks, and significant supplementary steel shielding was required for the upgrading of the older rooms.

MCA worked closely with the hospitals’ Radiation Protection Advisors at all stages to ensure the correct level of protection was provided. The refurbishment was part of the National Plan for Radiation Oncology.
