CUH's Glandore Centre wins the ICE Award 202009 November 2020
We are delighted to announce the new cancer treatment centre at Cork University Hospital has won the Healthcare Project of the Year, Irish Construction Excellence Award 2020. MCA were appointed by the HSE as Architects for this project in 2013 and BAM completed the development in 2019.
Opened by then-Tánaiste Simon Coveney last year, the CUH building provides space for essential cancer treatment services to be delivered to the people of Munster. The project was selected from among a prestigious shortlist of six other projects.
This highly specialised building includes seven radiotherapy treatment rooms, on-treatment support, a brachytherapy suite and a diagnostic suite. MCA’s healthcare team are currently working on similar projects in both University Hospital Galway and Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
